Years ago, back when I was in my sophomore year in college – I had booked my very first wedding. I had no idea what I was doing and was so nervous. At that same time, one of the interns that my mom was working with at the elementary school was in the middle of planning her wedding and was sharing all the details with my mom. One of those details was her wedding photographer. My mom then sent this photographers website to me to check out. As I sat exploring her website, reading her “about me” section-falling in love with her work and even more so with the person behind the business, I was immediately inspired. Without thinking, I sent her a message, telling her about my first wedding in the coming fall and how I was nervous and did she have any advice for a new photographer. Well, I’m pretty sure-no I’m positive- God placed her in my life for a reason, I’m positive that He was the one that laid it on my heart to go so far outside of my box and send her a message. She emailed me back and not only did she offer advice, but she offered to mentor me for the summer!! She was my first experience with #bossladies and boy was it an incredible experience. I learned more from her in that summer than I had in years of photography classes. Shortly after that summer she moved from Baltimore to Pittsburg(where her heart really lives – silly Steeler’s fan 😉 )  and we haven’t seen each other since that summer. I still follow her religiously, look up to her immensely and dream of owning a business as successful as hers some day.

So who is this amazing photographer/woman and why am I telling you all of this…well, I had the crazy awesome opportunity to second shoot for Meaghan of Meaghan Elliott Photography a few weeks ago!  She was back in Baltimore shooting a wedding and needed someone for just a few short hours to shoot all of the details at the reception site. And when I say all of the details – I mean I shot close to 1,000 images JUST of details!!!

The reception was held at the Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum in Fell’s Point.

The wedding was planned, designed and coordinated by the INCREDIBLE girls at Lemon & Lime Event Design – seriously if you’re looking for a planner, these are your girls!! They did an absolutely stunning job!

If you want to see the full wedding, head on over to Meaghan‘s blog for her TWO posts about Jess & Doug’s day.
